A Pretty Little Party: Pretty Little Liars Inspired Food
This blog post will be devoted to the food we served at our Season 5 finale watch pArty. Hope you find some inspiration for your next PLL themed party or season 6 watch party.

First I'd like to share the fun idea my mom came up with. We had an empty large square vase with dirt in it (I'm sad to say my green thumb does not extend to indoor succulent gardening--I killed them all!) and she found a tool in the garage that closely resembled the Boo Boo's Ice Cream ice pick. She embedded it in the dirt and added some red carnation blooms and some vines cut from one of my grandmother's plants. We left it in the entryway to welcome my sister and her husband to the pArty in only a way A can!

Both my mom and I spent some time searching Pinterest for ideas. We never really found any pins for an actual Pretty Little Liars themed dinner/lunch so we came up with our own. Bloody Steaks! We served filet mignon wrapped in bacon with sautéed mushrooms, baked potato and salad. For presentation, the steak knife was stabbed upright into the steak.
There's nothing like a good bloody steAk stabbed with a knife for your Pretty Little Liars pArty! |
Next up is our treat table where I placed my A message inspired tAgs!
We set up this treAt table to snack on during the show! |
Not pictured because I didn't want it to melt was a homemade creamy mocha coffee gelato--or as I like to call it, "The Brew Ice Cream." I used my favorite gelato recipe from The Shoebox Kitchen. I substituted the 1 cup of Bailey's for 1 cup of strong brewed Kahlua flavored coffee. (I would have used actual Kahlua flavored liquor if we hadn't run out of it recently!)
Somewhere on Pinterest my mom read that Lucy Hale (Aria) made Oreo truffles for Ian Harding's (Ezra) birthday so we decided to make a half batch of this yummy goodness. We used double stuff Oreos because we still don't have the red velvet Oreos in our stores here. We dipped them in white chocolate and then used red candy melts to make a bullseye on the tops to match my "Bullseye, bitches!" A message tAg.

Next we crumbled up a few extra Oreos into a martini glass and added some sour gummy worms. Too many bodies have been dumped in the vicinity of the Hastings and DiLaurentis houses to not warrant some dirt and worms, or in this case, "Dead Body Dirt!"

We also made some "killer popcorn." We found a recipe on Pinterest that uses hot sauce and lime juice and a popcorn popper. We no longer have one of those so we just popped some bagged popcorn and then mixed the buttery yellow goodness with some paprika and chili powder.
And what is a party without a snarky A sign-off. The "Kisses, bitches!" A message tAg was attached to an apothecary jar full of Hershey's kisses.
Lastly, I also found a Board Shorts Ale graphic online that I printed out and cut to fit on a beer bottle. I just used some of my glue tape to adhere it over the actual label. Now our own black hoodie mystery figure can enjoy Ezra's favorite beer!
Make sure to check out Pinterest for more Pretty Little Liars party ideas!

Until next time, liars!
