If you love fussy cutting (or maybe just looking at it), then you'll love this Memorydex card!

I find that either you love fussy cutting or you don't. I actually find it relaxing. I can listen to a podcast (like Life Handmade by Scrapbook.com!) or watch some TV and just snip and cut away.

I started by fussy cutting out a whole bunch of elements from the P13 Forest Tea Party cut out elements page from their 12x12 paper kit. I cut out leaves, a set of mushrooms, the banner, a cluster of flowers and the fawn. I highly recommend a small swivel knife like the WeR Memory Keepers Swivel Craft Knife for getting into the tight spots plus the Tim Holtz Mini Snips. I then put several of my fussy cut elements into my Splat Box and splattered them with watered down white impasto paint and set them aside to dry.

Next I cut the base of this Memorydex card out from watercolor cardstock. I then pressed some Distress Ink in Kitsch Flamingo and Victorian Velvet onto my Glass Media Mat and spritzed them with water to get the inks flowing. I pressed and swiped the card through on both sides then dried with a heat tool for a pretty pink watercolor effect

Using my Vagabond and Magic Mat, I cut out a few Funky Floral leaves from some white cardstock. I added dabs of Smart Glue to parts of them and set it aside to dry. Once dry, I added silver Minc foil by pressing and rubbing it onto the glue, which remains sticky when dry for easy foiling!

Once all of of my different elements were ready to go, I began layering it all on, using foam tape and other adhesives. I tucked in a few nests of a silky fuchsia thread and added a few Pinkfresh jewels. To finish it off, I added a sticker sentiment from Tim Holtz.

It's so simple but oh so pretty! And perfect for welcoming spring. I'll still have to wait for true spring to arrive here in Colorado for a bit yet--we just had a major snow storm that dropped a ton of snow! So I'll just be here in my craft room in the mean time, staring at my pretty floral paper pads and all my paper flowers!

Happy Crafting!
