Thinking of You Handmade Sympathy Card

Every once in a while someone has a loss in the family or a baby is born and there's nothing quite like receiving a handmade card on those occasions. It's a gesture that really lets the recipient know you are truly thinking about him or her.
Most recently there was a loss in the family of one of my fellow musicians. Sympathy cards can sometimes be hard. What do you say? What image on the front of the card would bring them just a moment of happiness or hope for peace in the future?
I decided that this time, I would be a little unconventional in my color choices. Most sympathy cards have soothing, calming colors but I decided for a vibrant card with the colors of the rainbow represented in the pennants. The sentiment on inside of the card matches this theme: "Fond memories will bring you brighter days."
I stamped an image of a mason jar on acrylic using Ranger Ink's archival ink and heat set it with my heat tool. I filled the jar with chrysanthemums cut using my Silhouette Cameo. A mini heart brad holds the layers of the mums together and creates the center of the flowers. A ribbon and a "Thinking of you…" sentiment finish off the front of the card.
Simple yet lovely, if I must say so myself!
