Can't you just see the recipe albums, with this collection? (They even included recipe cards in the collection, all ready for you to fill out!!) But I wanted to make a fun mixed media panel celebrating my love for cookies first. And as always, you can find a full list of supplies used in this project at the bottom o this post!

I started by adding one of the 12x12 papers with the brown and green floral pattern to an oval canvas base using Soft Matte Gel. Once that was stuck down, I added some modeling paste through a Finnabair stencil. 

Next I worked on some of my elements for this canvas. I started by painting some moulds and I'm so happy with how the mouse mould turned out! It was my first time painting a mould with details, rather than just a single color and some wax to highlight the texture. 

I first prepped these resin casts with some of Finn's Clear Gesso first and then used the Art Philosophy Essence watercolor palette to paint my moulds. This set didn't have any pink and I wanted that for the mouse's ears and nose so I used the light pink in the Pastel Dreams set. I used some browns for the body, face and cookies; green, yellow and a mix of blue and grey for the clothes and the jar; and pinker the ears, nose and mouth. Then I used a touch of Snow White Impasto to create the mouse's whiskers and add some highlights here and there. 

For the wax seal mould, I painted it with a green watercolor and then added the Old White Matte Wax to the highlights. The Vincennes Hardware moulds got a brown watercolor and then I added both the Sage Green Matte Wax and the Old White Matte Wax to create a patina look. 

I also painted a mini wooden rolling pin with some Impasto Paint in Victorian Green and Linen. Once it was dry, I tied on some of the yarn from this collection to pull in the brown for the cookies. 

I also fussy cut out the tray of cookies and pulled some ephemera from the icons pack--the oven mitt, wooden cook spoon, a recipe page, and a cookies and flowers piece. 

I started out by glueing the mini rolling pin to the center of the canvas and then added the mouse on top. Then I tucked the recipe card and cookies ephemera under the rolling pin on the right side. Then I piled on flowers, the other ephemera pieces and the hardware moulds. I tucked the little wax seal under the left side of the rolling pin. 

For texture, I added a touch of the White Crackle paste to the edges of the flowers and to the canvas. Then I applied Art Stones and some Pearls using Soft Matte Gel. The finishing touches were a couple of the sentiment chipboard stickers and a few crystals from The Home Baker collection.
