Easy DIY handmade cards are the best; especially when they are pretty.

Even though these cards are easy and quick to make, they aren't short on style.

All you need are a few basic supplies including some hybrid inks and a pretty stencil. I started with a base of the Neenah Solar White A2 scored cards. These cards are perfect for blending inks on because they are smooth and bright white. And the fact that they come cut to the perfect size and pre-scored is super handy.

I chose two colors of ink for this set of notecards--the Glass Slipper hybrid ink from Scrapbook.com and Distress Oxide in Faded Jeans because it offers gorgeous contrast to the pretty pale aqua. Use some mint tape to hold your card and your stencil in place while you work and and then blend your inks over the front of your card. (The Scrapbook.com domed foam blending tools are fool-proof for anyone looking for smooth ink blends without the hassle.) On one of the cards, I added a piece of scrap paper over my stencil to get the fun diagonal cut.

Then, I backed some dark blue cardstock with the Scrapbook.com double-sided adhesive sheets. These sheets are perfect for turning delicate die cuts into stickers so you don't have to worry about any glue "squish-out." I used the Tim Holtz Handwritten Journey die set to cut out two sentiments.

To mount the sentiments on the cards without them getting lost in the mix, I cut two 1/4" strips from the Neenah Solar White flat cards. I inked the edges with one of the inks and used my glue runner to adhere it to the front of the card then stuck down a sentiment.

To finish both of the cards off, I wanted to add some Nuvo Jewel Drops for a little added dimension. To keep the Distress Oxide ink from reacting to moisture in the Jewel Drops, I rubbed a small amount of Tim Holtz Micro Glaze onto the center of each of the stenciled medallions, removing the excess with a bit of paper towel. Then just squeeze on your Jewel Drops and let your card dry! (If you are in a big hurry and can't wait for Jewel Drops to dry, try some stick on gems instead.)
