Better than Your Dreams: A Vintage Travel Themed Scrapbook Page

by - 1:00:00 PM

I'm absolutely determined to get my sister's wedding album done before she moves to Germany in February with her husband who is in the Army.  Which means that I'm attempting to get all of her engagement photos scrapped while I'm waiting for my cousin to send us the wedding photos.  So I'm happy to say that I can now share another engagement photo layout!

"Better than Your Dreams" by Alice Scraps Wonderland. A dreamy vintage inspired layout using the Prima Something Blue collection and other embellishments.

I had my mom help me pick out the background paper for this one--it's "Announcement" from Prima's Something Blue collection.  I paired it with some 6x6 papers and other embellishments from the same collection.  I think the pink really makes the red of the caboose pop out!

Better than Your Dreams full layout
A dreamy, vintage inspired engagement photo layout plus the perfect Dr. Suess quote!
I just love the dreamy look of this photo and found the perfect Dr. Suess quote to match:  "You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams."

Close up of suitcase

I had fun with the various travel-themed elements of this page--an old post-type stamp, a stamp die cut and I even found the perfect little vintage suitcase die cut on the Silhouette store to match the vintage suitcase in the photo!  The ticket from the Tag Me set by Prima was a great addition as well.

And of course, you can't have a layout without some Prima flowers so I added some called Honeymoon along with some other flowers from Crate Paper, some that I bought from Etsy and one that I just had lying around.  I also cut off a flower from the Melissa Fances floppy blossoms ribbon and tucked it under the large white flower.

Close up of details--flowers, brad, bling, etc.

For some bling I placed a few of the new Say it in Crystals from Prima's Stationer's Desk collection.  It threw in a few more pinks and added in a little blue to match some of the minty colors of the Prima flowers and papers.

Products Used:
  • The Paper Studio:  cardstock - black
  • Prima:  Something Blue collection - Announcement 12x12 paper, 6x6 paper pad, cling stamps, brads, flowers - Honeymoon, Tag Me tag set; Stationer's Desk collection - Say it in Crystals; Chalk ink - pastel brown, pastel pink; distressed tool
  • Sticko - vintage watch sticker
  • Melissa Fances:  Floppy Blossom ribbon - blush
  • Crate Paper - Maggie Holmes - Flea Market - resin flowers
  • Silhouette America :  sketch pens
  • Tim Holtz:  Distress Ink - victorian velvet, pumice stone
  • Ranger Ink:  Archival Ink - jet black
  • Die Cuts with a View:  cardstock - neutrals stack
  • Bazzill:  cardstock - almond cream, sugar cream

And if you can't wait to see some of my sister's wedding day photography, my cousin Kelly has a preview up on her blog--including a photo of the bride and groom under a beautiful rainbow!

Happy Crafting!
Adrienne
