Magical Sea Creatures ATC Mixed Media Tutorial
(Inter)National Scrapbook Day is upon us, so let’s make some fun mixed media ATCs with the newest collection from Prima Marketing, A Mermaid’s Tale!
Hey, crafty friend! I just wrapped up a Facebook live over on the Prima Marketing page (you can watch the replay on YouTube)! In that live, I shared how to create this pretty set of sea creature shaped ATCs. Prima’s iNSD challenge this year was to do a free form shaped ATC of a magical creature, and include the color blue, glitter and a stencil!

Now, I won’t got into all of the details on how to create those here, because you should definitely check out the replay of that video to see all the amazing details! But I did want to share some photos of those ATCs here so that you can get a closer look at them.
I altered this sweet octopus to have little suckers on his arms. I used Redesign’s Modeling Material to create those suckers.
Then I piled on blue and aqua flowers and ephemera and painted the little turtle mould to match the octopus.
This sweet purple seahorse has a hint of blue shimmer with stenciled on Mermaid Effect Paste, which has blue-green iridescent flakes in it. I also used the same Modeling Material to add an eye and some dimension to his fin.
And one of the things I love to do with my paper scraps or extra journaling cards from all of my Prima collections is to die cut leaves from them and add them to my projects.
I used a gingko die and cut it from purple paper in the A Mermaid’s Tale 4x6 journaling cards and added it to the cluster of flowers and shell ephemera on this seahorse.
