Easy Alice in Wonderland Altered Paint Brush Tutorial For Mixed Media Beginners and Pros
This altered paint brush uses only a handful of supplies and is perfect for mixed media beginners and experts to take on!
Hey, crafty friend! I've had this idea in my head for a while and I was just dying to create it! You know how in Alice in Wonderland the Queen of Heart's gardeners are painting white roses red because they accidentally planted white flowers but the queen loves red? The story line, much like the hole story, is quite wild!
I wanted a different take on wildflowers...so in this case these are wild flowers! But what makes this altered brush so easy is that you only need a few mixed media supplies to recreate it!
What are those main supplies? White Gesso, 1 red paint and 1 wax color! Of course you'll need a moulding material (I used my favorite resin) and paper flowers! Other than a few sparkly touches, that is all you need! Shop all of the supplies used in this project below!

Now I bet you want to see just how easy it is to recreate this gradient altered brush beauty, am I right? I've got a full step-by-step tutorial up on my YouTube channel for you!
Now here are just a few of the details of this brush...
I used the smallest brush in the chip brush set I've linked below and the metal band of the brush is the perfect spot for the large heart mould from the Lost in Wonderland Deck of Cards Mould, which becomes the perfect textural base for the flower cluster.
The green wire stems of the stemmed flowers were painted with white gesso to match the red to white color gradient.
And for me, at least, no project is complete without some sparkle! I used a red glitter, a Metallique Wax, Memory Hardware Pearls, and of course some Crystals from the Return to Wonderland and From the North Pole collections.
I hope that you enjoy this accessible and fun mixed media tutorial! Don't forget to head over to my channel to watch that now, and until next time, happy crafting!
