I cannot tell you how excited I am about this new Prima Marketing collection, Lost in Wonderland, designed by The 3 Girls Tale! I go by Alice Scraps Wonderland online, so of course I love anything Alice in Wonderland related. The first project that I want to share with you all is one inspired by the Queen of Hearts. The crimson flowers in this collection are absolutely stunning and I just had to feature them!

I started out by prepping a 12 inch wooden circle base with some Black Impasto Paint, painting the edge. Then I traced the circle out on two pieces of paper from the Lost in Wonderland collection and cut the circles out. I distressed the edge of each circle with a distressing tool, then tore the checkered paper in half.

I glued both of the papers onto the wooden circle base with Soft Matte Gel. To add some additional texture to the background, I applied some Modeling Paste through the Bindweed Wallpaper stencil.

Before layering on all of my elements, I like to prep everything to get the pieces all ready to go. I pour all of my resin moulds in advance, so that when I start creating, I can just paint them. I painted one of the wax seal moulds from the Letters to Wonderland Mould, two large hearts from the Deck of Cards Mould, plus the small heart with Metallique Acrylic Paint in Red Wine

If you don't prime your moulds with gesso you can achieve a nice resist affect. I start by misting my moulds with water then add on an acrylic paint. I let it pool in the crevices and wipe away any excess paint from the highlights with a wet wipe or paper towel.

I then did the same thing with the ferns from the Following Alice Moulds, except I used the Liquid Acrylic Paint in Avocado. I like to place a drop of these concentrated acrylic paints on a piece of old plastic packaging and mix it with a few drops of the Fluid Medium to help this paint flow well into the crevices of moulds.

I also fussy cut a ton of different elements from this collection, including the hare with the trumpet, a frame, a large key, a mauve butterfly, a small red rose, some leaves, and a large cluster of pink roses. I also picked out some ephemera pieces that matched well as well as one of the little tickets

Once all of my elements were ready, I began to layer everything onto the round base. I added my flower cluster going across the center of the circle. I tucked some sisal fibers under many of the flowers and added the fern moulds in a cluster.

One of the large hearts was added upside down, tucking it under some of the flowers a bit. I then added two layers of cardboard box to the back of the other large heart to help pop it from the base. The frame, key and hare were added to the center of the project and one of the pretty large crimson flowers was added on top of the hare.

Floral ephemera and the ticket were tucked in and the wax mould was also added. I tucked in floral stems and some of the smaller flowers throughout the project. (Pro Tip: Throughout this project I used more pieces of cut up cardboard box to add space between layers or to level elements out.)

For the smaller heart, I used one of the smaller flowers that has a lot of dimension to pop the heart up off the base enough to fit the French Regalia Crown I on.

Heavy Body Gel is a must for adding all the elements in this project, but here as well. The last piece of fussy cut ephemera to be added was the little butterfly on one of the peach colored flowers.

For the finishing touches, I added Memory Hardware Pearls, a chipboard sticker and some of the crystals from the Lost in Wonderland collection.

I hope that you love the Lost in Wonderland collection as much as I do. The elements are just so beautiful and so are the colors. And if you love moulds, you will love this collection because there are a total of 4 moulds in this collection! You get three larger moulds and one smaller mould.

Make sure that you follow me on Instagram as I’ll be sharing more inspiration using this collection and you’ll hear about it there first. Until next time, happy crafting!
