What is Christmas without a quaint farmhouse truck with a tree and a bit of Rock Candy glitter?

I've promised myself that this year would work on more than just Halloween projects during this crazy making season. And so far, I think I've fulfilled that promise to myself, but I'm not about to stop now!

I wanted to make a sweet little farmhouse truck vignette as soon as I laid my eyes on this adorable fussy cut element from P13 in their Cosy Winter Sugar and Spice Maxi Pad. So I got to work fussy cutting some other elements from the same pad of paper.

I chose the smaller of the two Tim Holtz Vignette Tray to create my project in. I painted the entire box with Prima Snow White Impasto paint.

Next I chose a piece of striped paper from the same P13 collection and trimmed it to fit inside the Vignette Tray. I used a distressing tool to distress the edges of the paper and then added some 1/4 inch double-sided adhesive from Scrapbook.com and pressed it into the tray once the paint was dry.

I used a shaping kit to add a little dimension to some of the floral fussy cut elements for more dimension. Before assembling, I added some Glossy Accents and Rock Candy glitter to the fussy cut elements for some sparkle.

I then began layering on some flowers, metallic silver thread, my fussy cut elements and some chipboard snowflakes that I had in my stash, using a combination of adhesives, including foam adhesive and heavy body gel.

Once the inside front of the tray was done and the glue cured enough, I flipped it over to add a little interest to the back, using the same techniques as I did on the front.

I hope you enjoyed this simple but pretty project. I gave this to my mom for her birthday, as she is always wanting more art to display at Christmas. Until next time, happy crafting!
