Steampunk Wedding: Custom Disc Case

by - 11:00:00 AM

I just wanted to share with you a few photos of a project I made in December last year.

This was a pretty intensive, custom-made disc case for one of my cousin's clients.  I went all out on this steampunk themed case which I created to [almost!] perfectly match the wedding.

Here is a view of the front and back of the custom disc case.  My cousin said to go all out on this one, so I did!
I actually used white flowers from Prima and Tim Holtz Distress Stains to match the flowers in the bride's bouquet!  (The green flowers are from Petaloo.)  In the large flowers in the bride's bouquet, there were brooches as the center of the flowers (they were fabric flowers, but wow were they gorgeous!) so I added a brooch to the cluster of flowers on the front of the case.

My cousin said there were lots of birdcages and goggles present at the wedding and reception so I created my own goggles die cut and added a pretty Prima birdcage embellishment.

To continue with the steampunk theme I added lots of pearls, jewels and metal--gears, hinges, brads that look like screws, old metal jewelry I had laying around the house, etc.

In the photo on the front of the disc case there is a tall ship amongst the bride's bouquet so I added a ship to the inside of the disc case.
