Introduction to Versatility
All of Vicki’s designs are hand drawn, making them truly unique pieces of art that you can use in scrapbook pages, cards, tags and so much more. These products are designed to be a staple that you can use across a broad theme of projects that you can return to over and over again. Flowers, leaves, geometric backgrounds--these are all things we can use in so many different projects, whether it's for Valentine's Day, Christmas, Birthdays, Halloween and other themes.
And, you can see that some of the names on these products have a "#1" at the end, like the greenery and floral themed Stamp and Framelit sets. This means you can expect similar themed products in subsequent releases that will help you build off this first release to get even more versatility out of them by mixing and matching!
Speaking of the Stamp and Framelit sets, what I love most about these is that each design in the set has a coordinating stamp, Framelit and Thinlit! This means you can get even more versatility through design and technique. It allows you to stamp only, stamp and die cut with the framelits, or die cut only with the thinlits. The bottom line: these sets allow you to create different looks and vibes using the same product but with different techniques.

Tips for Shopping Smarter
Let's dive into the topic of versatility more. We all need "consumables" when we craft. Consumables are things that you use once or have to be replaced when they become worn down or used up over time. These are things such as paper, cardstock, cutting pads for die cut machines, pastes, foil and ink.
But there are certain items that you can get even more from if you shop smart. Here's what you should look for in products that help you stretch your craft stash and craft budget more:
- Products that you can use over and over again, such as stamps, dies and moulds.
- Products that give you options, like stamp and die sets, so you can create with different techniques.
- Products with a broad theme, like flowers, borders, geometric shapes and everyday sentiments, that will help you create projects over a wide variety of themes.
- Consumables that give you more for the money, like ink, water colors, or variety packs of items like cardstock.
Finally, my last tip for stretching your craft budget when shopping is to buy the things you love and you know you will use. Don't fall victim to FOMO (fear of missing out) or jumping on the trend band wagon if something is just not your style.
We can all get caught up in buying what is constantly advertised to us. Trust me, my day job is social media marketing, not just for my crafting stuff, but an actual job with a marketing company. I know the tricks and lingo companies use to get you to buy, buy, buy! But I also grew up poor and know what it's like to pinch pennies--heck, I still live below poverty level! So I truly do get it.
Those tactics from companies are highly effective and it's why they continue to use them; but when you are aware that those are tactics, it's easier to break through the noise and follow your heart (and cries from your pocket book) to buy only what you truly love and to stick to a budget.
And while I am on a couple design teams, do guest designs for other companies and am affiliate with others, I want you to know that I will always be honest with you. I'm on the Sizzix and Prima design teams because I truly love their products and think they are high quality. And I'm only an affiliate or guest designer for companies I think also have something great to offer.
I look at my cooperation with these companies not as "I have to sell you on everything," but of bringing you "ideas and inspiration." Just because I share a product and talk about what I love about it, doesn't mean you have to love it too. I never want you to feel obligated to buy anything that I use and share with these companies. If you love it too, great! If not, that's totally okay.
Not every collection or product is going to vibe with every single person. And even if you don't care for a particular product, I hope you still get something out of my projects and tutorials that I share, even if it is a technique or idea that you want to try with something you already have in your stash. I love that, by the way!
I hope that you enjoyed this deep dive into versatility and getting more from your craft stash. Let's all help each other out--leave a comment with your tips and tricks for stretching your craft budget and getting more out of your supplies.
Until next time, happy crafting!
Adrienne
