I love layouts that focus on one smaller photo. It really gives me a chance to have some fun with the background and leaves plenty of room for journaling and embellishments.

Sometimes layouts can be as simple as black and white. I have found those layouts to be absolutely stunning. So when I received an order for a client who wanted a scrapbook done for her boyfriend, I knew I had to use this technique to create some layouts that were romantic, yet not overly girly.
