Iridescent Blushing Snowflake with Floating Frame Element
This blushing, iridescent snowflake mixed media art piece is perfect for gifting or hanging on your walls this winter season.
Snowflakes are winter's flowers! I absolutely adore snowflakes and I go crazy during the winter season adding snowflakes to practically every project. From splatters to create a snowy background, to die cuts, I'm all about these crystalline structures. I'm so obsessed I have a coffee table book all about snowflakes.
Many of us think about snowflakes as white, clear, blue, purple and blue-green. I wanted to do something just a little different by making this a blush and cream colored snowflake with touches of iridescence. (You can shop the supplies used for this project at the bottom of this blog post.)
And I've got an entire tutorial video for you up on the Prima Marketing YouTube channel right now!
Some of the things you'll learn and see in this video include:
- Adding texture to the snowflake base
- How to create a beautiful ombre gradient of Liquid Acrylics
- How to create my signature floating frame aesthetic
- How to add iridescent confetti
I just love this floating frame technique. It literally looks like the resin frame is floating or hovering over the top of your project. But I share my secret on how to create this illusion without it toppling over! (Hint: It uses Prima flowers, of course!)
And I just wanted to show you a few more of those details close up, though I really feel the camera just doesn't do this project justice.
The texture from this stencil is just so incredible!
I think this project just turned out so ethereal and soft!
And the iridescent confetti just adds that extra dose of sparkle.
And that's it, my friends! I hope that you love this project as much as I do. Don't forget to head over and watch the tutorial video now. Until next time, happy crafting!
