Hey, crafty friend! I've got a quick and easy handmade card for you using the May 2025 Spellbinders Club Kits. I used the Embossing Folder and Small Die of the Month to make this card along with the new Color Wheel Cardstock.

What I love about the May 2025 Small Die of the Month is that it's such a good staple to have. The set contains different options for your books and apple, so this set not only works for graduation cards, but also teacher appreciation cards and even scrapbook layouts with school photos! It's such a staple that it and the embossing folder are must haves! (You can shop all of the supplies I used below!)

So what is Spellbinders Club? It's a monthly membership where you get a box of goodies delivered right to your door with fun, fresh designs each month! You can choose 1 or a handful of clubs, or--if you are like me, you need all of them, then you can sign up for the Caboodle! With the Caboodle, you get 1 extra gift each month. It's another small element that coordinates with the theme of the box, like a coordinating die, or a stencil to help you ink up a BetterPress or Glimmer image. Plus, once you are a member, you can shop past kits at a discount--plus you get early access to all of Spellbinders' new releases. And you can cancel your Club membership at any time, so there is no long-term commitment to worry about.

But let's get to this quick and easy tutorial!
  • Cut a piece of Classic White cardstock to A2 size and emboss it with the Abstract Study embossing folder.
  • Splatter the embossed card front with the Scrapbook.com Black Lustre Brush and set aside to dry.
  • Cut the apple body from Pomegranate cardstock.
  • Cut the glasses, graduation cap, arm and pencil lead from Raven cardstock--save the negatives from inside the glasses as we'll use those later.
  • Cut the tassel and the smooth layer of the pencil from Beeswax cardstock.
  • Cut the textured layer of the pencil from Tuscan cardstock.
  • Cut the leaf for the apple from Peridot cardstock.
  • Cut the Congrats book from Celestial (top layer) and Indigo (bottom layer) cardstocks.
  • Cut the Knowledge book from Beeswax (top layer) and Tuscan (bottom layer) cardstocks.
  • Cut the Wisdom book from Peridot (top layer) and Rainforest (bottom layer) cardstocks.

  • Using liquid glue, adhere your book layers together.
  • Pop the negatives from the glasses out and glue 1 circle to the back center of the apple, covering his nose and mouth. Then cut the other circle in half and use one to cover the back of each eye.
  • Glue the glasses to the apple.
  • Glue the tassel to the cap.
  • Glue the layers of the pencil together.
  • Glue the cap to the top of the apple and tuck the leaf in.
  • Glue the arm to the apple then the pencil to the hand.
  • Glue the books into a stack on the card using double sided adhesive or liquid glue.
  • Add some 1mm thick foam adhesive to the apple and place him on top of the stack of books.
  • Pop a few of the Onyx Color Essential Gems on the card.
  • Add the card to a folded card base.

And that's it! So easy that it will probably take you about an hour. What takes the longest is the die cutting and gluing of all the layers together. But it was so easy, I was able to make this card the night before my sister's graduation with no worry at all. Speaking of my sister, I'm so proud of her! She just received her Masters in Psychology and specialized in play therapy. She's going to help so many kids deal with their big emotions and I couldn't be more excited for her to start this new chapter!

Anywho, enough gushing! The window for new Club Memberships closes on the 27th of May, so you still have time to snag these items. Or, you can wait until the 6th of June to see if you can buy these a la cart. There's no guarantees though--if a club sells out it won't be added to the past Club Kits for purchase. Until next time, happy crafting!
