Seasonal DIY Part 2: Tags for a Mini Album Tutorial
The seasonal mini album continues with these sweet little tag embellishments.
Hi, crafty friend! I'm slowly working on my mini album using the latest 49 & Market Sizzix release. I wanted to have some fun little tags that could be paired with each season/event. Hopefully I'll be able to fit everything in.
I'm wondering if I should have made the album base first, but perhaps I'll take this as a challenge to figure out how to get these and the embellishment clusters in with photo mattes. Anywho, let's get right into this tutorial--all the supplies are listed below!
I used much the same supplies and techniques as I did for the embellishment clusters so that I could have a cohesive look. But there are far less layers. I also introduced a new stamp and die set, Holiday Tags, for this set of tags.
I start by stamping out my images with Distress Archival Ink in Black Soot. Then I add some textural stamping with the Wings & Things stamp set and Distress Archival Ink in Hickory Smoke.
Then I die cut the images, or fussy cut them (the Poinsettia & Pine from Sizzix's seasonal line are only stamps with no matching Framelits). I added some depth by inking things with a little bit of Distress Ink in Ground Espresso.
Then I layered the elements onto the tags. For some of the more delicate and smaller icons, I backed them on a second smaller tag from Sizzix's Banners Tags & Labels Framelits from their everyday essentials line. I used foam adhesive to layer it all on for more dimension.
Then I added on some gold pearls that that's it! Super simple, super easy. I hope you loved seeing how I translated the embellishment clusters into this smaller tag format. Let me know in the comments below if you want the album base assembly and decorating to be a YouTube video. If I have the energy (I've been suffering with new health issues), and there is interest, I'll film that as a long-form video instead of a short-form one. Until next time, happy crafting!
