Hi, crafty friend! I'm so excited to be a guest designer for Scrap Diva Designs this month! I've got a bunch of projects coming your way and up first, is a pretty scrapbook layout using several of the metal dies I received in my guest designer package. 

Scrap Diva Designs just released some new spring and Easter themed dies, including the Nested Flower Set, Spring Words 2026 and Spring Memorydex. I've combined them with Scrap Diva's classic Flower die to create this pretty little scrapbook layout of my niece at the playground a few years ago during the late spring. 

I've got a full YouTube video tutorial for you where you can see me unbox all of my guest designer package and get the step-by-step process of creating this layout, from die cutting, to adding texture and depth, to assembling and adding finishing touches. 

I use some of my tried and true favorite techniques in this tutorial and they are some of the best ways to add texture and dimension to any craft project. The first technique is using nested dies to create a little "stage" for your embellishments to sit atop. 

Not only are nested dies an easy way to add dimension, but the Flower Nesting Set features a pretty flower doily edge that adds great texture. This and the other die pieces in this set feature the signature Scrap Diva Designs de-bossed sewn look, adding even more texture. 

I did add a little stitching of my own, just for added texture and to coordinate with the stitched photo mats I added.

The other favorite technique is adding ink and a hint of shaping to flower die cuts. I added a slightly darker ink color to the center of each flower layer then used some shaping tools to help the petals pop a bit more.

And of course I also took full advantage of the sweet little birdies in the Spring Memorydex die--you can curve their little wings up for a bit of added dimension!
