Mix & Match: Dreamy Blue & Green Mixed Media Canvas Tutorial
I love to mix and match my new and older Prima collections to come up with new, fun color combinations. For this project, I used Lost in Wonderland, Nature Academia and Return to Wonderland.
Hey, crafty friend! Mixing and matching your new and older Prima Marketing collections is a great way to use up your supplies in new and creative ways. I especially love coming up with new color pairings of Prima flowers!
For this particular project, I chose soft blues and greens using flowers and ephemera from Lost in Wonderland, Nature Academia and Return to Wonderland, with the last of those 3 collections being the newest. (You can shop all the supplies used at the bottom of this post!)
And if you want to see every step of how I assembled and decorated this mixed media canvas, you are in such! I've got a full tutorial video over on the Prima Marketing YouTube channel! In it, you'll:
- See how I apply texture paste.
- Learn how to paint resin moulds.
- Learn why I like to dry fit my elements on my project before gluing them down.
- Learn how to create a cohesive look when mixing and matching your flowers.
- See how I create the dreamy watercolor look.
- See how I add all of the pretty little details, like Memory Hardware Pearls, Art Stones and Crystals!
I hope that you'll head over and check out the full video, but be sure to keep scrolling for more photos of all those dreamy details!
I used the Lost in Wonderland Wax Seal Mould to add a fun element inside this Tim Holtz Pocket Watch.
And I bet you didn't think that acrylics could look like delicate watercolor, did you?! I share how to do this in the tutorial video!
I layered up flowers and ephemera to create delicate and dreamy layers.
And of course no project is complete without some Art Stones, Memory Hardware Pearls and pretty gems from the Say It In Crystals packs from Prima!
Mixing and matching is such a fun exploration of color and style! I hope that this mixed media tutorial inspires you to pull out your Prima supplies and start coming up with fun new combinations. Until next time, happy crafting!
