National Craft Month: Storage and Organization + Craft Room Tour!
Looking for some creative ideas for storing your craft supplies? I've got a bunch of ideas and tips for you in my most recent tour of my craft room!
Hey, crafty friend! I just wanted to share a blog post with all of my crafty organization and storage ideas! This will be my hub for everything organization, so if you want my latest list of storage and organization solutions, bookmark this page. I'll update it as I find new items that work well for keeping my craft room organized!
You can shop the list of my storage solutions below! This list gets updated as I add solutions to my craft room!
There's quite a few different pieces of furniture in my craft room, so I've split my tour up into two videos. You can start by watching Part 1 of my craft room tour below, which coversthe 2 shorter Kallax units along my half wall and my craft desk, which has some built in-storage and plenty of space on the desk for holding bits and bobs. Here you'll see stamp storage solutions, how I store my Pops of Color, flowers and more!
And you can watch Part 2 of my craft room tour below, which covers the larger Kallax unit where I store some of my die cut machines, Bigz dies, cardstock and more; plus my Workbox (now called a Dreambox) with most of my mixed media supplies, small embellishments, flowers and paper collections from Prima, and more.
But I also want to highlight a few of those solutions here. First is the ever ubiquitous in craft rooms around the world, the Ikea Kallax shelf.
I have 3 of these Kallax shelves in my craft room, one 3x4 unit and 2 of the 2x4 units. They are perfect for holding the 13x13 boxes, 12x12 albums, 9x12 albums, baskets, and of course the Modern Stackable Paper Trays from Scrapbook.com! You can stack up to 8 of these trays in one cube of the Kallax. I use the Stamp N Store pockets (fits in the 12x12 trays) and sleeves (fits the 8x11 trays) to sort my cardstock so I can have more than one color per tray.
You can slide the Scrapbook.com Ink towers in with A2 sized cardstock sorted in the slots into these Kallax cubes too.
I like to use the 9x12 and 6x8 Scrapbook.com albums to store stencils and stamps. I use the pocket page protectors, and if needed, trim down the packaging or fold the packaging so that it fits in the various pockets. This makes it easy to flip through the book and see all of your stamps and stencils. I organize my stamps into themed albums while all of my 6x8 stencils into one album which are then organized by theme inside the single album. Then I store all of my Spellbinders Club stencils and stamps in a 9x12 album.
Some of the other storage solutions I like to use include the clear bins from Scrapbook.com and the Medium Envelope Organizer to hold my dies. I hold small chipboard, resin pieces and extra die cuts in these bins.
I also love these medium wire baskets from The Container Store to hold all of my Prima flowers! I usually put 1 or 2 different collections into each basket, depending on how many flowers I have for a collection.
And finally, if you love to do pocket pages and have lots of journaling cards or you just want to organize your photos, this organizer from Scrapbook.com is super handy and fits perfectly into the Kallax unit or sits nicely on your desk for easy reach.
I hope that these ideas help you organize your elements. I recently purchased a label maker that I use to label all of my Cardstock and my dies, placing the label on the envelopes or pockets. As I update or change my solutions, I'll continue to update this blog post, so be sure to bookmark this page. Until next time, happy crafting (and organizing!)
Adrienne
