These 3D felt Easter eggs with flowers are absolutely darling and you'll want to make a hundred of them! Let's dive into this tutorial!

Hi, crafty friend! I love a good felt craft and these 3D eggs from Spellbinders designed by Sandi MacIver are so cute!

If you have her Fergus die cut, this 3D Egg and Flowers die set matches perfectly with the little wizard gnome. And there is a Spring Decor set that was just released as well to decorate Fergus and your eggs with other spring themes--like rainbows and clovers.

I've got all the supplies I used, plus the aforementioned Fergus and Spring Decor sets listed below for you to shop, if you like. And, be sure to check out my Halloween and Winter Fergus that I created last year for more inspiration!

I won't do a detailed tutorial here, but I do want to share Sandi's tutorial on how to create these eggs because it's very detailed. I'll just add a few notes of my own to how I created my version.

I used the larger size of the egg die cut--you'll need 4 of the egg and 1 of the matching sized square to create the bottom of your egg.

Make sure you follow Sandi's suggestions on how to close your eggs up at the corners and top--it's very important so you don't tear your felt!

For the felt, I used some pastels and the white from the Netural and Holiday Merino Wool Felt sets from Spellbinders, plus som warmer toned pinks, coral and yellow from the Warm set. There are so many fun color combos you can create with these felt sets and others offered by Spellbinders, from bold and colorful to perfectly pastel. You can opt for high contrast between the egg and the flowers or keep things within the same color variations for a softer look.

I used the wax tip of a jewel picker to help me stuff my eggs with Polly-fil batting then used dried rice to add weight to the bottom. Sandi uses "lizard litter" which you can find on Amazon if you'd rather used crushed walnut shells like she does.

I used a running stitch on my eggs, but you can get fancy with a blanket stitch or whatever stitch you love most. I added some stitches to the petals of the tulip and the center of the daisy for added interest using an embroidery needle, rather than the tapestry needle that I used to stitch all the parts closed with the die cut holes.

To help with the center of the daffodil and adding the layers of the flower petals, I used a few dots of liquid glue. But to add the flowers onto the eggs, I used my hot glue pen, which has a nice thin tip for small detail work.

If I had time, I totally would have made at least a dozen, but three will suffice for now! I hope you enjoy these pastel flower felt Easter eggs and that it inspires you to create something beautiful of spring. Until next time, happy crafting!
Adrienne
