Storytelling by Spellbinders: Snow Day Scrapbook Layout with the Home Sweet Home Die
Let's create a wintry scrapbook layout together using the Spellbinders Storytelling line.
Hello, crafty friends! Winter is just around the corner, so let's get caught up on our old photos from previous years with a fun snow day layout.
I created this layout for Spellbinders using their Storytelling line along with some other dies and ephemera from my crafty stash. So let's get right into it! (All the products used are listed at the bottom of this blog post!)
This layout is created on a piece of white 12x12 cardstock. I took the blue and white star patterned paper from the Adventure Prints pack and tore it a little over halfway down the paper. Then glued the paper with the white torn edge to the white cardstock.
I matted my photo with white and light blue cardstock. Then I glued it down to my layout.
Next I did a ton of die cutting! I die cut the Home Sweet Home die from the Storytelling line using blue, white and gray cardstock as well as a patterned paper from the Heartfelt 6x6 Paper Pad. I used the Splatter White paint to add some "snow" to the roof and the fence pieces then glued everything together with liquid adhesive.
Then I die cut some snowflakes from the Delicate Snowflakes die set from blue cardstocks, blue glitter cardstock and brushed silver cardstock. I assembled the layers with liquid glue and foam adhesive.
Then I die cut my title from the Stitched Alphabet collection, cutting both layers of the letters S, N, W, D and Y. I also cut the bottom layer of the O. I used grey and blue cardstocks for this
I used a blue embroidery floss and stitched all of the upper layers of the letter dies. Then I used foam adhesive to adhere the upper layer to the lower layer. I also added one of the snowflakes to the center of the O's lower layer.
I added my title, using my snowflake as the O and the house as the A. Then I created a couple of sentiments with the Happiness BetterPress Press Plate, Pebble Cotton Card Panels for the BetterPress, and the Cosmic Ink from the Regal Tones BetterPress Ink set.
I added these sentiments, some small snowflake die cuts and ephemera from the Belleview collection. The finishing touch was adding some Color Essential Gems in Aquamarine and Silver.
I hope you enjoyed this fun little layout. It's perfect for your winter and snow day photos. The stitching takes a little time, but just sit down with a good movie and go to town! And, this little house can be used for cards too! I created one using some of the patterned papers from this line as well as the Nested Postage die.
Make sure you check out the Storytelling line from Spellbinders. It pairs really well with the All Seasons collection too. And until next time, happy crafting!
