Day 6 Sweet Cupcake: 14 Days of Love Memorydex Valentine's Advent Calendar
This sweet little Memorydex card is a pocket that holds a gift card!
Nothing is better than a coffee and a sweet treat to enjoy with it. This Memorydex card delivers a Starbucks gift card in a pocket decorated with all kinds of sweet little accents so the coffee lover in your life can get their caffeine fix and a cake pop to go with it!
I started out by cutting 2 tabbed Memorydex cards and then trimmed one down. Before sewing the two dies together, I wanted to add a bit of ruffled trim to the front of the pocket. To get the ruffle trim to lay more flat, I ironed it with my Cricut Easy Press then used my Stitch Happy sewing machine to sew the ruffle onto the shortened die cut.
I changed out my thread from a basic one to a thicker floss one and then sewed the two die cut Memorydex cards together. I really like this way this chunky thread shows up on paper. I then fussy cut a cupcake with roses from the Prima With Love collection and then popped it on to the front of the the card with foam mounting squares. I also added a chipboard cake sticker from the same collection, using foam mounting squares to layer it on.
I added a sentiment using the inspirational life sentiments word die set from Scrapbook.com, a blush colored cardstock from their Sherbet smooth cardstock pad and their double-sided adhesive sheets. I've been using the new Magic Mat to help me get clean die cuts each and every time and let me tell you, this thing works like a charm! Best investment for my Vagabond die cutter ever!
After placing on the "sweet" die cut, I added a few other embellishments including a paper flower, crystals, a pin with a resin flower and a sticker from the charcoal, blush and rose gold sticker book. That's it--so sweet and so simple!
Make sure that you come back tomorrow for my next Memorydex advent card!
