How to Make ATCs with Ribbons and Bows
I love a textural and ephemeral moment on ATCs. Here is an easy way to add some ribbon and bows to your next ATC project.
Hey, crafty friend! The new Cherry Sweet collection makes it so easy to add bows to your project, and with all of the other trims and ribbons Prima offers, you can easily add texture to your ATCs!
I've got all of the supplies for this project listed below for you. So let's get right into this quick and easy tutorial!
- Pick out a few of the cabinet cards from the Cherry Sweet collection and cut some of the 6x6 papers to fit behind the card.
- Use foam adhesive to adhere the cabinet card to the patterned paper.
- Cut a some of the Lost in Wonderland Ribbon down to around 15 to 20 inches then cut the ribbon in half to create two thinner strips of ribbon. Fray the cut edges with an awl.
- Tie a ribbon around each ATC card, finishing it into bow on one side of the card. Tack the ribbon down in the center of the card with a small dot of hot glue.
- Cut one of the Love Notes ribbon lace trims off and pull the layers apart. Hot glue the bottom layer of the ribbon lace to the top of your ATC.
- Shape one of the bow ephemera pieces from Cherry Sweet with shaping tools to give it more dimension. Pop some foam adhesive onto the back of it and use a tiny dot of hot glue to adhere it to the center of the lace bow.
- Shape a butterfly ephemera piece using the same tools and then glue it to the center of the ATC over the ribbon.
- Glue a few flowers and a chipboard sentiment from the Cherry Sweet collection to the bottom of the card.
- Add a small button (optional) and one of the gems from the Cherry Sweet Say It In Crystals.
- Use Finn's Soft Matte Gel to apply some Art Stones and Glitter to the flowers.
This project offers texture and dimension and is so easy and quick to put together! I hope this inspires you to create a mini project like this or to try adding fibers and ephemera to your next mixed media project. Until next time, happy crafting!
