Hi, crafty friend! The second Vicki Boutin collection with Sizzix recently released and this collection has a textiles themed. That means these dies all have incredible texture! 

From intricate lacy dies, to lots of debossing on the dies to make them look embroidered and sewn, these dies will bring tons of life to your projects.

And, I've got a full YouTube tutorial sharing how I created this layout. During the process, I chat about how to really highlight that debossed texture in the new Thinlits to make the most of the texture, pairing these dies with real textiles, and how to get intricate dies to cut perfectly each and every time.

Vicki is designing her Sizzix collections to mix and match. So I of course pulled in 2 of the Thinlits from her first release, including these script dies. 

And I also brought back those Double Edgers Thinlits too! It looks so nice with the Lovely Lace die from this second collection. 

There's a sweet little butterfly die in the Stitched Floral Thinlits set that I just adore. I love layering multiples of this to create even more dimension!

And of course no project is complete without a hint of stenciling--there are 3 new stencil sets from Vicki in this release and I chose this pretty script from the Words and Numbers stencil set. 

But as we all know, I love to make the flowers the star of the show. And to match the Lovely Lace and stitched debossing in the flowers, I paired them with some embroidered lace in this layout, to add a hint of real textiles. 

But no really--look at all that debossed texture in these flowers and leaves! 

And adding some torn and layered patterned paper with a bit of sewing just ties it all together. 

These flowers were the perfect edition for this layout! The picture is of my sister (I know, she and I could practically be twins!) and my nephew in her springtime maternity photo shoot. She just had my niece last month and this collection was just perfect timing.
