Hello, crafty friend! I previously shared some mini art gallery magnets using these same frame moulds and a different set of transfers, but today, we are going to turn these into some pretty Christmas ornaments instead! 

All you need are some small frame moulds, like those in Ornate Legacy and Astrid from Redesign with Prima, plus some Christmas themed transfer sheets with small images. I used the Redesign Season's Greetings from the Past Transfer set because they are perfectly sized to fit inside Redesign frame moulds! 

You can shop all the supplies I used for this project below, so let's get right into this tutorial!

Start by casting out the frame moulds you want either from white resin or Redesign with Prima's Casting Mix. 

Before adding paint to my moulds, I used them to help with my transfers first. So cut the transfers out that you want to use and apply them to some heavy white cardstock using the Redesign Transfer Tool.

Then trace the outside shape of the frame onto the transfer and cut the shape out. Make sure it fits well and that you don't need to make any adjustments by dry fitting first. Then apply a layer of the Redesign Decoupage Gel in Matte over the transfer to protect it from any scratches. 

Trace the same frame out onto some pretty patterned paper. I liked the pattern on the back of the Twinkle & Treats 3x4 Journaling Notecards, which is a lovely green with some wintery greenery in the corners. Cut these shapes out as well and set them aside. 

If you used resin, be sure to prime your mould casts first with Finn's Gesso--I used the clear gesso. If you used the Casting mix, you can skip this step.

Next, paint your frame casts with chalk paint. I used the Adirondack White from Folk Art. Once this layer of paint is dry, dry brush the highlights with a grey chalk paint. I used Parisian Grey from Folk Art. To add a shimmery touch to your mould casts, apply Finn's Celestial Wax over the highlights using your finger. 

Once your moulds are done, glue the mould to the coordinating cut out transfer for that mould using some good liquid adhesive. I used Sizzix's Express Glue. 

Using a hot glue gun, add a small tassel to the bottom back of your frame, adding just a small dot at the bottom of the frame. Trim the loop off and then glue it to the top of the frame with more hot glue. Then cover the back of the ornament with the coordinating cut of pattern paper. 

And that's it! Super easy and fast, making them the perfect last minute gift or for an ornament exchange. Until next time, happy crafting!
