A Note for You: Music Themed Note Cards
From minimal to floral, here are two music themed card ideas you'll want to copy.
Hey, crafty friend! Spellbinders sent me a few items from Bibi's Musical Notes collection recently and I wanted to share two different card ideas using the Mini Musical Instruments die, Family Musical Mix Greetings stamp, and the Musical Notes 3D embossing folder.

Black, white and red is a classic "musical" combo of colors. So for my minimal card, I opted for that very color palette.
I cut an A2 card base from Raven cardstock then trimmed a 4 by 5 1/4 inch Classic White card matte. I misted the white cardstock with water and ran it through my Platinum in the Music Notes 3D embossing folder. I glued the embossed cardstock to the black base with liquid glue.
From the same white and black cardstock, I die cut the piano from the Mini Musical Instruments die set. Then I stamped one of the sentiments from the Family Musical Mix Greetings stamp set onto another strip of the white cardstock. I added the piano and the sentiment to the card with foam adhesive and trimmed off the excess from the sentiment strip. Then I added a few red gems to finish off the card.
The second card is a little more involved so I'll break it down into bullet points for you!
- Cut the Classic White cardstock to an A2 card size.
- Cut the Teal Topaz to 4 by 5 1/4 inches.
- Spritz the Teal Topaz with some water then run it through your Platinum inside the Musical Notes embossing folder.
- Use a blending brush to apply Peacock Feathers to the edges of your card--it's subtle, but gives it just a little something extra.
- Use liquid glue to adhere the embossed cardstock to the white base.
- Die cut the violin and bow from Raven, Truffle and Alabaster cardstocks.
- Cut the bow 3 times from Truffle and 1 time from Alabaster
- Cut the violin fretboard/neck 1 time from Truffle and 1 time from Raven
- Cut the violin from Truffle
- Cut the chin rest from Raven
- Using a small blending brush, add a little bit of the Ground Espresso ink to the edges of the violin and the tuning peg portion of the fretboard/neck.
- Using small scissors, cut one of the brown bow die cuts so the strings of the bow come off. Glue this to the Alabaster cut off the bow with liquid adhesive.
- Then glue this assembled bow to the other two brown layers of the bow to make it more sturdy.
- Using the chisel tip Uchida Gold marker, add a small gold line to bottom of the bow--this mimics the metal piece that sections off the part of the bow you turn to tighten the strings of the bow.
- Using small scissors, cut the fretboard where you see the debossed horizontal lines--this should be right below the tuning peg section and just a bit above where the bridge would be.
- Glue the black fretboard/neck piece to the brown one with liquid adhesive.
- Then glue the fretboard/neck piece and the chin rest to the violin.
- Pop your violin onto your card base with some foam adhesive, leaving the outside edges of the violin free from adhesive so you can layer die cut flowers under it.
- Die cut some of the smaller Bayfair Floral Spray flowers and leaves from Fern, Terracotta and Cinnamon cardstocks and glue the layers together with liquid glue.
- Arrange and glue your flowers onto your card using both liquid and foam adhesive.
- Add the bow on top of the violin with liquid adhesive, then pop one more flower so it lays a little over the bow.
- Stamp out one of the sentiments onto a strip of white cardstock from the Family Musical Mix Greetings stamp set using Archival Ink. Trim it down and pop it onto your card with foam adhesive.
- Add on some Smoky Topaz and Spectrum AB gems.
I hope you enjoyed these two very different style cards using the same collection! Until next time, happy crafting!
