Night and Day Mixed Media Canvas with Prima's Golden Desert
Juxtaposition is something I love, but maybe it's because I'm a Libra.
I recently received a prize package from Prima Marketing full of yummy goodies that I wanted to combine into a gorgeous mixed media project! I loved the idea of creating a canvas with a light and dark juxtaposition to it.
It reminds me of that special time of day, the twilight that happens at sunrise and sunset. And of course all those metallic accents really make this project shimmer and shine!
I started by adding some copper patina paste through a Finnabair lace stencil to one side of my canvas and then used a coordinating color mist and spritzes of water to let the mist run and pool among the texture of the paste.

I burnished metallic flakes onto a piece of chipboard then began layering on my elements. I even fussy cut a few cacti from some of the papers to add to the mix.
And because the chipboard medallion reminded me a bit of a dreamcatcher, especially with the Golden Desert theme, I added a few metal charms with some jump rings to the chipboard piece.
I just love all the metallic elements in this project combined with the soft papers, flowers and hint of lace peeking out below a flower!
Happy Crafting!
