Farmhouse in very on trend at the moment, but I also think it's a pretty classic style, if you ask me. There is something so utterly charming about shiplap, red barns and old farm trucks full of pumpkins or trees for the holidays.
So when I saw the Carta Bella Farmhouse Christmas collection, I fell instantly in love. This collection is perfect for Christmas layouts or cards. But during the holiday season, you may be short on time, like me. So easy and quick Christmas cards are essential.
For this set of cards, all you need are the 3x4 journaling cards, coordinating patterned papers, deep green and red cardstock and some pre-scored A2 cards. Add in a clear glitter brush pen and you can quickly add a hint of sparkle to your cards as well!
For these cards, I started with the Neenah Solar White A2 pre-scored cards. These cards are so handy because I don't have to take out my scoring board, cutting down on the time it takes to make these adorable cards. Simply fold and then press with a scoring tool for a crisp fold.
Next, I chose one of the 3x4 journaling cards from this collection, then selected a coordinating 6x6 patterned paper and either a dark red or green smooth cardstock from the new Christmas cardstock pad from Scrapbook.com.
Using a glue roller, I glued down the cardstock to the front of the card base. Then I cut the coordinating patterned paper to 4x5.25" and glued it down on top of the cardstock.
Using a clear glitter brush pen, I added a hint of sparkle to each of the 3 journaling cards I chose. For the red barn, I added glitter to the snow on the trees. For the wreath, I added glitter to the lantern and some of the wreath's leaves. And for the Noel sign, I added glitter to half of each holly leaf.
To add just a bit of dimension to each card, I used large foam mounting squares to adhere the journaling card to the patterned paper.
And that's it! So quick and so easy you could easily nock out the entire 12x12 sheet of 3x4 journaling cards in 1 evening and have plenty of cards to send to friends and family this holiday season!
Happy Crafting! (And Happy Thanksgiving to my American readers!)
