Generations: A Newborn + Family Scrapbook Layout
Journaling can be an important part of scrapbooking. Especially if you want to leave behind some notations for future generations, like which relative is pictured in a photo or telling the story behind a photo.
One of my clients is creating an album for each child and she loves to add little notes to her kids about how she was feeling when the photo was taken, what was going on, or, just little love letters to her children. It also helps me to create more meaningful scrapbook layouts for my clients.
In this particular layout, I labeled some of the photos with who was holding the newborn and adding some journaling from my client about the three generations of women in the photos. I kept the layout simple, with a focus on the photos and journaling, opting for black and white plus tiny pops of blue and yellow.
I added small bits of dimension and texture to this more modern and sleek layout with foam mounting squares and thread. I popped the name label banners up with the foam mounting squares and tucked some thread under some of the fussy cut embellishments.
