DIY Candy Cane Felt Christmas Tree Ornament
I've got another easy to make felt ornament using the Felt Stitch and Create collection from Spellbinders!
Hi, crafty friend! The Felt Stitch and Create collection and Merino Wool Felt sets from Spellbinders make creating little plushies a breeze! (You can shop the products I used for this ornament below.)
The dies in the Felt Stitch and Create collection punch out nearly every hole you need to create beautiful plushies with even stitching. The only dies that don't have holes for stitching are the smaller ones (in this case, the little layer circles for the holly berries.) Not only that, but each die set comes with a code you can scan to easily access Spellbinders' tutorial videos on how to put together each of the felt plushies in this collection!
I decided to make my Candy Cane pink and white and I used DMC Variations floss colors 4150, 4180 and 4040 to stitch together this plush. The pink and white felts came from the Holiday Merino Wool Felt set and the felt for the purple berries top layer and the green leaves came from the Trend Merino Wool set.
I stitched on the pink layer to the white candy cane base for the front and back using the pink variations floss. Then I stitched the candy cane together using the white and cream variations floss. The berries base layer was then stitched together and then I added the purple top layer and some light pink beads to make them shine.
The leaves were stitched together with the green-blue variations floss. I used hot glue to add the leaves and berries to the candy cane, tucking a little bow of Vivant ribbon in between the berries and leaves. I used a needle and the pink floss to add the string to hang this little ornament.
And that's it! This is perfect for adding to a stocking, a gift or your tree! Be sure to check out the full Felt Stitch and Create collection as there are so many other cute plushies to create. And if you haven't already, check out my Boho Snowy Owl and Fox ornaments that I created. Until next time, happy crafting!
