Even Shabby Chic Makers will Love the New Nature Academia Collection!
The new Nature Academia collection from Prima Marketing is distinctly a dark and moody collection. But that doesn't mean that there aren't opportunities for makers with a shabby chic style to make with and love this collection too!
On the reveal day earlier this month, I joined the lovely Malwina, another member of the Prima Design Team, in a Facebook live on the Prima Marketing page (video embedded below) to show off how to create with the new Nature Academia collection. Malwina focused on the dark hues, making a card fit for a book lover.
But as you can see in my project photo, I decided to focus on the lighter hues in the collection, particularly the sage greens, to create this lovely shabby chic canvas. I wanted to show the versatility in this collection, that it isn't just all vintage, dark and moody.
There are plenty of opportunities to create lighter sage green monochromatic projects such as this, or to create contrast with the dark and light colors. I often find that shabby chic is really in how you decorate your projects. Elements such as lace, pearls and dry brushing with white paint can help "tone down" a darker project and make it more shabby chic.
If you missed the live tutorial, be sure to check it out now by watching the video below!
I just love the frog prince that shows up in the mould, ephemera and even the journaling cards in this collection. Isn't he just adorable enough to kiss?!
