Farmhouse Style Fresh Cut Christmas Trees Panel
I loved how my farmhouse style Christmas cards turned out and wanted to create a small home decor project.
So I grabbed my 12x12 Farmhouse Christmas kit from Carta Bella and set to work. To create my project on, I decided to use a Mini Framed Panel from Tim Holtz. I started by watering down a little bit of Prima's Snow White Impasto paint and dry brushing it over the surface of the frame and sides and back of the panel.
While that was drying, I chose a watercolor buffalo check patterned paper from my kit as the background for my project. I cut it to fit the panel and glued it down using a combination of Smart Glue and 1/4" adhesive tape. On top of that, I added the frame using Smart Glue.
Next I chose a few stickers from my kit. I placed a box sticker over the bottom of my tree sticker to make it look like it was sitting in the box. I also chose a poinsettia flourish and three tiny ornaments. Before placing my stickers down, I added some silver thread to the ornaments to make them look like they were hanging. I used foam mounting squares to pop the ornament stickers up off the page and then glueing the silver thread to the top of the panel with Smart Glue.
I also cut some branches from the Concord & 9th Take a Bough Encore die using a dark green from the Christmas Smooth Cardstock pad. I cut the branches apart and gathered them into bunches and gluing them together with smart glue and then sticking them down to my panel with small Sticky Squares.
I used foam mounting squares on the tree and poinsettia bunch, brushing the backs with baby powder to get rid of the excess sticky and then popped them on my panel. To finish it off, I added a pinecone and holly sticker to the box as well as a sentiment from the Classic Christmas Sticker Book.
