When your niece loves the great outdoors, you throw her a small National Park themed party for her birthday and make her pretty invitations!
These invitations were so quick and easy to make! All you need are some pocket cards with matching papers, some cardstock and pre-scored cards!
For my niece's party invites, I chose the
Let's Go Camping collection from Echo Park. This cute collection is full of fun outdoorsy and camping elements that are perfect for a National Park themed party.
I cut several of the
3x4 and
4x4 pocket cards out. On trimmed down some of the 4x4 cards or used a swivel craft knife or snips to cut the main element out.
Then I paired each pocket card element with a matching patterned paper from the collection--I used both
12x12 and
6x6 papers, choosing the size pattern that looked the best. I cut these patterned paper pieces down to 4 x 5.25 inches.
I also matched each set with some cardstock, using the
cardstock from the EP collection or some
A2 smooth cardstock from Scrapbook.com. The Scrapbook.com A2 cardstock pads are already the perfect size for A2 card fronts. For the EP cardstock, I trimmed it down to 4.25 x 5.5 inches.
To assemble the cards, I used
1/4 inch adhesive to apply the patterned paper to the cardstock and then the cardstock to the pre-scored card fronts. I adhered the pocket card elements using both
1/4 and
2 inch foam adhesive to pop them up a bit.
I then added some glitter to a few elements with a
glitter brush marker in clear. I also added some
enamel dots to several of the cards. And for one, I added on a campfire sticker (it was the perfect size to layer over the campfire printed on the pocket card), popping it up with some foam adhesive.
(Pro Tip: After you apply your foam adhesive to the back of stickers, use a paintbrush to apply a little bit of baby powder to the back of the sticker--this gets rid of the sticky you don't want. But be sure to keep the backing on your foam adhesive on until after you are done applying the powder!)
And now these cards are all ready for the info on the inside and to be placed in the mail! Until next time, happy crafting!
