How to Tint Mixed Media Pastes with Ink

Sizzix makes it easy to create custom mixed media pastes! All you need to create your own tinted paste is their Effectz Dimensional Paste and this ink pad.

Hey, crafty friends! Earlier this month, Sizzix and Catherine Pooler released the Vacay Mode collection. This is Catherine's first set of licensed designs with Sizzix and it is completely divine! (I've got a more full list of the supplies used at the bottom of this post.)

The jungle and pool themed motifs are so fun and make me ready for summer! Today's project focuses on the jungle themed items from the collection as well as how to tint your Sizzix Dimensional paste with Catherine Pooler inks.

Sizzix designed their Effectz line to mix and match as well as to customize. For example, you can add their Creamy Matte Acrylic Paints to their Dimensional Paste to create a custom tinted mixed media paste. But I wanted to see how this paste would take Catherine Pooler inks.

Because Catherine Pooler ink pads are so juicy and the foam is a soft foam, you can easily squish ink out onto your work surface and mix it up with the Dimensional Paste. Check out just how easy it is in my latest YouTube tutorial, which you can watch below.

Not only do I show this custom mixing process, but I also show you how I layer up these sweet tropical medallions. And if you watch to the end, you'll see which special friend helps me finish up my project!

I hope that you enjoyed this tutorial and that it inspires you to create your own custom tinted mixed media paste with Catherine Pooler inks and Sizzix Dimensional Paste! Until next time, happy crafting!
