Curiouser and curiouser! Let's dive into the world of Alice in Wonderland with the new Lost in Wonderland collection from Prima Marketing!
My
last project using this collection focused on reds and pinks. So today, I wanted to share a project that focused mainly on teal.
I started out by trimming a piece of 12x12 paper to fit the base circle of my project and adhered it to the base with Finnabair's
Soft Matte Gel.
Pro Tip: After placing your paper on your base, use a craft scraper to can help you get air bubbles and wrinkles out.
Then I and painted the wood layering piece with Finnabair's Heavy Black Gesso. I love the super dark, matte look of this gesso and I think it sets off the project nicely. Once it was dry, I attached it to the circle base with liquid adhesive.
I selected several moulds from the collection, including the teapot and teacups, a diamond and some keys. I also chose an
Apothecary Bottle Mould and one of the Mirror Frames from Finnabair.
I wet the resin moulds with a mist of water then painted on some Art Alchemy Acrylic Paint in
Mermaid Teal to the moulds. The water helps the paint to poole in the crevices of the moulds. This is a quick way to highlight the texture of the moulds without all the work!
While I was waiting for things to dry, I fussy cut out several elements from the
12x12 pad and the 6x6 pad of paper. I also chose some
ephemera and vellum ephemera to tuck in.
Once the elements were dry, all that was left was to pile on the flowers, ephemera, moulds and more!
Some of my tips to help you with spacing out your elements and keeping everything level is to use both foam adhesive and cut up pieces of cardboard boxes. I started by placing some of the
larger flowers from the collection on the bottom to create a nice sturdy foundation.
I added on the Mirror Frames mould and some
smaller flowers. This provided a spotlight base for the fussy cut Alice and the top flower and chipboard sticker. I also tucked in some sisal fibers for additional texture.
Along the sides and bottom, I tucked in more moulds, ephemera and flowers. The finishing touch was adding some Memory Hardware Pearls in
teal and
pink as well as some crystals from the Lost in Wonderland collection.
I hope that you love this Alice themed project from the
Lost in Wonderland collection! What are some of your favorite colors and elements from this collection? Drop your answer below in the comments. Until next time, happy crafting!
